What causes the error message “Unfortunately, Google Play Service Has Stopped”?

What to do When Google Play Services Keeps Stopping?
Restart the Device
This step may seem self-evident, but we’re not attempting to offend you. Most Play Store issues can be resolved by turning your device off and on again.
To restart your Android device, follow these steps:
- Keep the power button pressed down until the shutdown menu opens.
- Select the power off icon.
- When the device has completely shut down, press and hold the power button to turn it back on.
- Check the Play Store to see if your problem is solved.
Update the Play Store and Google Service
An old version of Google Play or the Google Services Framework can sometimes cause issues. When you face uncommon complications, you should check for updates for both of these.
- Open the Google Play Store app.
- In the top-right corner of the Play Store menu, to the right of the search bar, tap on your profile symbol.
- You’ll see a list of pending updates if you tap Manage apps & devices. Tap Update all to update all of your out-of-date apps.
- If a new version of Google Services Framework is available, this should update it.
- Optionally, enter the left-hand menu and select Settings. To check the Google Play Store version, scroll to the bottom of this page and tap the Play Store version.
- Restart your device, then open the Play Store once more.
Switching from Cellular Data To Wifi
The “Unfortunately, the Play Store has ceased working” issue may appear if your internet connection is slow. There may be no error messages at all in some circumstances. Other times, the Play Store will halt downloads in the middle or refuse to begin them at all. The solution is straightforward in both cases. Switch to your mobile network or a different wireless network if you’re using Wi-Fi. If you’re on mobile data, switch to a Wi-Fi network.

Change the Time and Date
If your date and time configurations are incorrect, Google Play Services may fail. It’s really simple to fix this:
- Select System from the drop-down menu in Settings.
- From the menu, select Date & Time.
- Check If it isn’t already enabled, use network-provided time. Check that your device is set to the correct time.

Return To A Previous Version Of The Google Play Store
